Welcome to the website of Ottawa's premier gay real estate agent! As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I understand the unique needs and challenges of the LGBTQ+ homebuyer and seller. My mission is to provide exceptional service and guidance to my clients while maintaining the highest level of professionalism.
I was born and raised in Ottawa and have lived the majority of my live in the west end of the City. I have done extensive travel and I always come home loving this "little-big" city more than when I left. Having had the opportunity to live in: Kanata, Bridlewood, Barrhaven, Little Italy and have now settled in rural Stittsville I know Ottawa and it's neighbourhoods extremely well. I began my real estate career in 2016 and it was love at first contract. I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of this business and still get excited when I get to meet new clients.
I met Brandon, my now husband, in 2014 the typical way people do nowadays. Online. We were inseparable ever since meeting and have continued to travel the world together. My biggest supporter and the person I turn to for a good laugh when life just gets a little tough. Brandon and I got married in October 2020 during a surge in COVID-19. I was very adimate that I didn't want to push off our wedding so we changed the venue (to our backyard) and decreased our guest list to 25 of our closest friends and family.
While our country has come a long way to recognizing our LGBTQ+ community, we still have a long way to go. Even today, roughly one-third of Canadians aren't convinced same-sex couples should be allowed to marry, according to a new poll released days ahead of Vancouver's massive Pride celebration. Just 64 per cent of respondents in the latest Research Co. survey agreed that same-sex marriage "should continue" in Canada, where the practice has been legally recognized nationwide since 2005. That's compared to 15 per cent who said gay couples should only be allowed to form civil unions, and 10 per cent who argued they shouldn't have "any kind of legal recognition. This very day, you as an LGBTQ+ individual have about a 60/40 chance of working with a realtor who stands in full support of who you are, and your right to equal protection under the law. It shouldn't be too much to demand representation with one of life's largest purchases. Finding a competent and trustworthy realtor is a tall order for any person, let alone a person from the LGBTQ community. Using the "family realtor" - the nice agent you met at an open house - or getting a referral from your friend Angela is dated and not a sound plan! Again, you're making what may be the biggest investment of your life.
